Man charged with murdering actor

A 21-year-old man has been charged with murdering a teenage Harry Potter actor, police said.

Rob Knox, 18, was stabbed to death in a fight outside the Metro Bar in Sidcup, south-east London, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Unemployed Karl Bishop, of Beaver Lodge, Carlton Road, Sidcup, will appear at Bexley Magistrates' Court on Tuesday charged with his murder.

Another five victims, all male and aged between 16 and 21, needed hospital treatment after being stabbed in the fight.

Bishop is also charged with five counts of wounding with intent relating to these attacks.

Rob, who played Marcus Belby in the forthcoming Harry Potter film, was the 14th teenager to die violently in London this year.

His parents, Sally and Colin Knox, said they hoped his movie role would bring attention to the UK's knife crime problem.

Mr Knox described his son as "an angel on earth without wings" and said he was a "very positive guy" who could turn his hand to anything.
