Man dies after 'neighbours row'

A man has died in hospital after an incident which began as a dispute between neighbours, police said.

Staffordshire Police said four men were arrested at the scene of the disturbance in the Normacot area of Stoke-on-Trent.

A spokesman said the force was alerted by a 999 call from a member of the public at 4.05pm on Friday, informing officers that two people had been injured.

Two males were taken from the scene of the incident in Uttoxeter Road to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.

The spokesman, who confirmed that the death was being treated as suspicious, said: "One of the males has since been pronounced dead and the second remains in hospital receiving treatment.

"It is believed at this very early stage of the investigation that the incident began as a neighbour dispute. However, police are maintaining an open mind and appealing for anyone with information to contact them."
