Man held over car boot body

A man is being quizzed by detectives after the body of a woman was found in the boot of a car.

Police searching for missing mother-of-four Janet Hossain, 32, found her silver Mercedes near Tilbury railway station, Essex, on Wednesday.

Ms Hossain was last seen at around 9pm at her home in Carlyle Road in Manor Park, east London, last Thursday.

It is believed she left before the next morning. Her Mercedes C180 also disappeared.

A 26-year-old man arrested earlier in connection with her disappearance had been bailed to return in June.

But Scotland Yard said he was re-arrested on Wednesday when he attended an east London police station.

"He remains in custody," a spokesman added.

A post-mortem examination is due to take place on the body on Friday.

Anyone with information should call the incident room on 020 8345 4142.
