Jason Webster, from Beverley Road in Hull, will appear at Beverley Magistrates' Court charged with the murder of Rebecca Love.

The 26-year-old, from Rotherham, was found by staff in her room at The Lawns complex at Hull University, Harland Way, Cottingham, on Friday afternoon.

She was studying a foundation year in marine biology taught at Hull College, and had intended to go on to do a three-year degree in the same subject at Hull University.

The University of Hull has confirmed Jason Webster is one of its students.

A spokesman said he was currently in his second year studying for a BA in history.
