Man remanded over wake killing

Aeeron Campbell, 24, of no fixed address, appeared at Manchester City Magistrates charged with gunning down Tyrone Gilbert, 23, and multiple other offences.
Father of three Mr Gilbert was attending the wake of friend and local gang member Ucal Chin who was also killed in a drive-by shooting a month earlier.
Campbell, dressed in a black t-shirt and black jeans, spoke to confirm his name and personal details during the 20 minute hearing.
He also faces charges of conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, possession of heroin with intent to supply and possession of heroin.
Campbell was remanded in custody and ordered to appear at Manchester Crown Square Court on November 16 to face the firearms and murder charges.
He was also ordered to return to Manchester City Magistrates Court on September 6 in connection with the heroin charges.
Mr Gilbert was gunned down in Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester on July 27.
A Home Office post-mortem examination showed he had died from a bullet wound to the chest.
Campbell was arrested on August 28 with a second 24-year-old man who was later released without charge.
