Man to face supermarket stab charge

A man is due to appear in court charged with the attempted murder of a young woman following a frenzied knife attack in a seaside supermarket.

Samuel Reid-Wentworth, 21, is alleged to have carried out the attack at the Somerfield store in Anchor Springs, Littlehampton, West Sussex, just before 4.30pm on Tuesday.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman from Littlehampton, is in a critical but stable condition in hospital in Southampton, where she is receiving specialist treatment.

Reid-Wentworth, of Longford Road, Bognor Regis, will appear at Worthing Magistrates' Court.
