Matalan death: Two face questions

Police are questioning two men over the murder of a shop manager.

Jamie Simpson, 33, was stabbed in the neck by robbers as he cashed up at the Matalan store in Hackney, east London, a week ago.

Two men were arrested on Friday evening on suspicion of murder and attempted robbery.

The men, both in their mid-20s, are being held at separate east London police stations.

A third man, who was arrested on Wednesday, was released on Friday on bail until late May, pending further inquiries.

Mr Simpson was attacked by three men who detectives believe lay in wait for him in the shop.

The men were shown on CCTV footage with their hoods up in the store in the Kingsland shopping centre.

Other members of staff found Mr Simpson at 8.30pm. He was taken to hospital but died from his injuries.

The store has offered a £40,000 reward for information about the attack.
