Men face dolphin cruelty charges

The trial of two men accused of disturbing a dolphin in a seaside town is due to resume after a two-month break.

Michael Jukes, 26, and Daniel Buck, 25, were charged under the Wildlife and Countryside Act in June last year, after police received allegations they had been cruel to "Dave" the dolphin.

The bottlenose dolphin became a popular tourist attraction for visitors to Folkestone, Kent, but a lack of recent sightings has led to speculation that it has died.

Pipefitter Jukes, of Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, and ground worker Buck, of Church Road, Folkestone, will appear at Dover Magistrates' Court.
