Missing sex offender arrested

Joseph Taylor, 27, was arrested at York railway station, a South Yorkshire Police spokesman said.

He absconded from a supervised hostel on Monday.

A second sex offender, William Bailey, 58, was also missing, police said. But he was later arrested after being on the run since Monday.

Taylor, who was released from prison on licence three weeks ago, was last seen at Sheffield railway station just before 9pm on Monday.

CCTV footage showed him at the station with Bailey, 58, who absconded from a supervised hostel in Rotherham.

Taylor had been accommodated at a different hostel in York.

Police warned the public both men had previous convictions for sexual offences against children and posed a high risk.

Taylor is in police custody, the spokesman added.
