Models 'should get medical checks'

The Model Health Inquiry wants models to get "good health" certificates proving they are fit for work.
Agencies would have to check these certificates - paid for by the models - before taking them on their books.
Models with acute types of eating disorder, such as anorexia, would be unlikely to be deemed fit for work.
But girls with milder forms of eating disorders could still hit the catwalk if their doctor agreed to it, according to inquiry chair Baroness Kingsmill.
The move is one of 14 recommendations put forward by the Model Health Inquiry which was set up in March by the British Fashion Council to tackle health issues among London Fashion Week models.
Up to 40% of models could have some form of eating disorder, according to the inquiry's estimates.
But the report fell short of pushing for a ban on "size zero" girls from the catwalk, saying size and body mass index (BMI) were not reliable indicators of health.
The report reiterates calls for under-16s to be banned from catwalks during London Fashion Week.
The British Fashion Council has already taken this on board and written it into the contracts of designers showing at the event.
