Shaquille Smith was fatally stabbed as he sat on a bench outside his home in Hackney, east London.
Police arrested five men aged between 17 and 18 as they answered bail at east London police stations.
Six people have already been charged with murdering Shaquille in St Thomas's Place, Hackney, on August 30.
Witnesses said Shaquille was surrounded by a group of around 15 youths just before midnight. He was stabbed in the stomach and died the next day in hospital. His sister Tahira, 16, was also stabbed in the attack and treated in hospital.
Shaquille had been due to go back to school to start his GCSE studies. He was the 25th teenager to die in attacks in London this year.
One of those charged with murder, a 17-year-old from the Hackney area, appeared in custody at Thames Magistrates' Court. Godiowe Dufeal, 19, of Well Street, east London, and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named, appeared before Thames magistrates earlier this month.
On September 8 three more youths appeared before Thames magistrates charged with his murder.
George Amponsah, 18, of Greenwood Road, east London, a 17-year-old and a second 16-year-old, both from Hackney, also appeared before magistrates.
All six are expected to appear in custody at the Old Bailey on December 12, a police spokesman said.
