The bodies were found on Friday at a flat in Shawbury, north Shropshire, said West Mercia Police.

They are yet to be formally identified but it is thought three Asian men lived at the property.

Shawbury Fish Bar and the adjoining Indian takeaway in Drayton Road were cordoned off as police carried out forensic examinations.

Detective Chief Inspector Dave Morgan, who is leading the inquiry, asked anyone with information about the deaths or who noticed any suspicious activity in the area on Thursday night and Friday morning to contact police "as a matter of urgency".

Post-mortem examinations were due to be carried out later on Saturday.
