Sgt Beattie, his 19-year-old son Callum Beattie, Jonathon McKenna, 18, and Mark Williams, 17, were each charged with attempted murder.

They made no plea or declaration when they appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The four were committed for further examination and were granted bail.

The police officer was injured following the incident.

He and his son, who was also reportedly injured in the incident, were treated at hospital before being discharged.
