Plane crash Britons named

The five Britons missing on board an aircraft which crashed in southern Cameroon have been named.

Air traffic controllers lost contact with Kenya Airways flight KQ507, which was carrying 114 people, shortly after take-off on Saturday

Rescuers resumed searching for the crashed Boeing 737-800 in remote rainforest on Sunday morning, but fog and dense foliage hampered their task.

There were reports on Cameroon state radio that the wreckage had been found, but a local aviation official said they were premature.

The aircraft, which was only six-months-old, originated in the Ivory Coast but stopped in the coastal city of Douala in Cameroon to pick up more passengers.

It took off again bound for the Kenyan capital Nairobi but shortly afterwards sent out an automatic distress signal.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) confirmed the five Britons on board were Sarah Stewart, Adam Stewart, Anthony Mitchell, Stuart Claisse and Gordon Wright.

An FCO spokesman said their next of kin had been informed but could not disclose any more details. All five Britons boarded the aircraft in Douala.
