Police name stabbed woman, 19

A 19-year-old woman stabbed to death was named by police as Amy Leigh Barnes.

Police were called to an address in Farnworth, Bolton, on Saturday morning following reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Officers and ambulance crews attended the scene at Moss Street and the victim was taken to hospital, where she later died.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder in the West Midlands on Saturday night and will be transported back to Manchester for questioning.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said inquiries are continuing.
