Potential Diana jurors quizzed
28 January 2007
They were handed a list of 10 questions by coroner Lord Justice Scott Baker as jury selection got under way for the high profile case.
The candidates, chosen at random from the electoral roll in west London, were asked to declare whether they, their family or friends had ever been employed by or associated with the royals, the al Fayed family and the Spencers.
They were told at the High Court that they should declare "any business or enterprise" connected to millionaire Mr al Fayed, whose son Dodi was killed alongside the Princess in the 1997 crash in Paris.
This included his Harrods store, Fulham Football Club - where he is the chairman - and the Ritz Hotel in the French capital.
Links to the Metropolitan Police, MI5, MI6 and GCHQ should also be divulged, the potential jurors were told.
The coroner told potential jurors that the deaths of Diana and Mr Fayed had "created worldwide interest on an unprecedented scale".
He warned them that this was not "any ordinary case".
A shortlist of 25 jurors was left after the questionnaires were examined, the coroner revealed.
These people were asked to return on Tuesday when the final panel is to be selected and sworn in.
