Prayers to be said for missing chef

Prayers will be said at York Minster for missing university chef Claudia Lawrence.

Miss Lawrence, 35, was last seen 11 days ago near her home in Heworth Road, York.

Posters of the missing woman were displayed at York City Football Club's Kit Kat Crescent ground and leaflets were handed out asking fans for their help.

The leaflets, which had contact details for North Yorkshire Police, read: "Missing. Claudia Lawrence has been missing since Wednesday, March 18. Have you seen her?"

Nick Bassett, York City FC club secretary, said: "We're trying to get the message across to as many people as we can that their help is needed in finding Claudia.

"We're a community football club and this is something that has happened in our community that will concern many, many people.

"It's important that if anybody knows anything that is even loosely connected, they call the local police."
