Protesters scale station chimney

And in a separate incident, climate change protesters blockaded the entrance to domestic departures at Manchester Airport. A Greater Manchester Police spokesman confirmed they had dealt with a protest at the airport, but by 10am the protest had ended.
Six protesters climbed a 200m high smokestack at Kingsnorth power station in Medway, Kent at around 5am, a spokesman said.
Another 20 activists were chained to the station's conveyor belt to prevent it burning coal, and predicted it will be off-line by Monday afternoon.
The protesters said they would paint the words "Gordon Bin It" on the chimney in 10ft letters and had enough supplies to stay on the site for "a few days".
They are urging PM Gordon Brown to reject plans for Britain's first new coal plant in more than 20 years.
Power company Eon wants to build a plant on the site that could supply electricity to 1.5 million homes.
But activists warn it will pump harmful carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere and create a precedent for more coal in the future.
Kent Police said they were called to Kingsnorth power station at 6am following a report that protesters had trespassed on to the site.
A police spokeswoman said: "It is thought that 23 Greenpeace protesters are currently on power station property and several of them have chained themselves to generators. Police have closed surrounding roads and have already moved on 30 people from the outskirts of the site."
