Railway body is missing Natasha

Police have confirmed they had found the body of missing teenager Natasha Coombs in undergrowth near a railway line.

The 17-year-old, of Dovercourt, Essex, vanished following a night out with friends in Ipswich on July 27.

A body was found near to Manningtree railway station, Essex, on Friday night and police said it was the missing clerical assistant.

Police said earlier that Natasha is thought to have been killed when hit by a train and dental records were to be used in confirming her identity.

The circumstances of her death are now being investigated by the coroner, police said.

Following her disappearance, her parents, grandparents and ex-boyfriend all made emotional appeals for help in finding her.

Natasha's family later released a statement through Essex Police.

A police spokeswoman said: "They would like to thank everyone who was involved in the search for their daughter and to thank the media for the publicity that they generated surrounding her disappearance.

"However, they do now request that they and members of the extended family are not approached by the media at this time so they can grieve for Natasha in private."
