Rampaging dogs attack six people

The Alsatian dogs ran amok for 30 minutes in Horfield, Bristol, mauling two mothers as they took their children to school.
A 45-year-old mother was attacked as she tried to protect her six-year-old daughter who was bitten on her left side.
A 34-year-old woman who was walking with her two young children was also bitten by the dogs who started their rampage in Shakespeare Avenue before making their way along Filton Avenue.
They set on a 15-year-old boy who was bitten on the arm as he stood outside the Candy Shop newsagents where the owner ushered children on their way to school inside the shop to safety.
In total, four people were rushed to Frenchay Hospital by ambulance crews while a fifth person made their own way to hospital. A sixth person was treated at the scene by an off-duty paramedic.
All of the victims were passers-by but none of the injuries was reported as serious. A 30-year-old man was arrested and held for questioning under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The dogs, which neighbours say were around a year old, were caught by police and are now being held in kennels.
The incident comes just three days after three-and-a-half-month-old Jaden Joseph Mack was killed by a Staffordshire bull terrier and a Jack Russell at his grandmother's home in South Wales.
A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said: "A 30-year-old man from Bristol was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail."
