Sheridan allies slam 'witch hunt'

Gail Sheridan and Angus Healy have been invited to attend a police station in Edinburgh on Tuesday, it was reported.
The news comes as three of Sheridan's colleagues, who backed him during his defamation trial, have been charged with perjury.
Former Scottish Socialist MSP Rosemary Byrne, Solidarity national secretary Graeme McIver and member Jock Penman were all arrested in the past week.
The developments come two months after Sheridan was charged with lying in court.
Solidarity spokesman Jim Monaghan said there was "absolutely nothing to suggest" Mrs Sheridan and Mr Healy would be charged.
The BBC reported the pair, who strongly backed Sheridan during the defamation case, are expected to be charged with perjury when they are interviewed next week.
"It's pure and utter speculation," Mr Monaghan said of the reports.
Sheridan, who left the Scottish Socialists to set up Solidarity, was awarded £200,000 damages following a defamation case against the News of the World newspaper.
Byrne, McIver and Penman gave evidence in his favour in his trial at the Court of Session in August 2006 along with one other party colleague. Prosecution authorities later instructed the police to investigate allegations of perjury by witnesses during the trial.
