Six quizzed over stab death

Six people are being questioned on suspicion of murder after a 20-year-old man was stabbed to death.

Dwayne Ayres was believed to have been attacked on the doorstep of a bungalow in Hook, Hampshire.

He was taken by car to Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey where he died at 3.50am.

Three others have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary in relation to the same incident.

Hampshire Police said Mr Ayres leaves behind a partner and an 18-month-old baby.

A post-mortem examination was being carried out at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Winchester, to find out how Mr Ayres, from Yateley, died. Local reports suggested he had been stabbed to death.

A neighbour, who did not wish to be named for fear of reprisals, said Mr Ayres had recently come out of prison.

He was jailed for two and a half years in October 2007 after crashing his car, killing two of his friends, while high on drugs.

His Peugeot 206 hit a tree outside a school in March 2007 after he lost control driving at 66mph in a 40mph zone. Callum Forbes, 15, and John Bryant, 18, were killed. Two other teenage passengers were seriously injured in the smash outside Calthorpe Park School in Fleet, Hants.

The bungalow in Holt Way was understood to be rented out to a group of around four men in their late teens or early 20s.
