The smiling couple posed for around 20 photographers after taking a quick break from helping organise the Festival of British Eventing.
The festival, one of the highlights of the equestrian calendar, is held at Princess Anne's home, Gatcombe Park, near Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire.
The world-famous competition attracts the top eventing names and faithful followers from all over the world.
The couple looked happy and relaxed as they posed next to a lake on the cross county course in the extensive grounds.
Canadian Miss Kelly, 31, was wearing her engagement ring after the couple announced last week that they were to marry.
Mr Phillips, 29, will be the first of the Queen's grandchildren to tie the knot.
The date of the ceremony has not yet been revealed but it will be the first royal wedding since the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall married in April 2005.
The Queen's eldest grandson, who is 10th in line to the throne, already shares a cottage with Miss Kelly on Gatcombe Park estate.
Mr Phillips, who, like his sister Zara, does not have a royal title, does not carry out any official royal engagements and generally maintains a low public profile.
