Snapper fined over Dodi pictures

Jason Fraser, 41, from London, was initially cleared of breaking privacy laws after he allegedly captured the Princess kissing her boyfriend Dodi Fayed shortly before their deaths in 1997.
But a court in Paris overturned the verdict and ordered Fraser to pay the Harrods owner 5,000 euros (£3,000). He was also fined an additional 3,000 euros.
Fraser said he hoped the ruling would be overturned.
Claiming he was the victim of a "personal vendetta", he said: "All said, I remain confident and would expect a French supreme court to now confirm my continuing faith in the common sense of the French legal system."
Mr Al Fayed has launched a string of legal appeals since the death of his son.
In April an inquest jury returned a verdict that the Princess was unlawfully killed by the gross negligence of a drunk chauffeur in a Paris road tunnel, while being pursued by paparazzi photographers. Mr Fraser said he was not in Paris at that time.
The car was driven by Henri Paul, one of Mr Al Fayed's own security officers from the Ritz Hotel, but Mr Al Fayed has never accepted the evidence that Mr Paul was over the drink-drive limit.
The coroner gave free rein to Mr Al Fayed to air his theories that the August 1997 car crash was a murder plot engineered by the British and French authorities at the behest of the Duke of Edinburgh, to silence the Princess and to prevent her dating Muslim men and campaigning against the use of landmines.
