Snowy start to chill Easter weekend

Forecasters predict there is more to come during this year's seasonal holiday, which falls at the earliest time for nearly a century.
The bad weather caused problems as strong winds and snow lashed the coast. In Whitley Bay, North Tyneside, a cordon was set up after scaffolding collapsed near a hotel. Vehicles were damaged.
In the Scarborough, Whitby and Filey areas coastguards were patrolling the area warning people to stay away from the seafront.
The area saw winds gusting up to 50mph which sent waves crashing over sea walls.
It became even more wintry overnight when snow fell across parts of Scotland and north-eastern England.
Forecaster Tony Conlan, of MeteoGroup, the weather division of the Press Association, said most of the snow had been on high-lying ground in Scotland and north-eastern England, but was likely to affect a larger part of the country over the weekend.
"Snow could fall more widely," he said, adding that it could settle in north-eastern and eastern England.
Mr Conlan said the snow would move southwards across the eastern side of the country on Saturday night, but would clear away from south-eastern England during Sunday morning and be replaced by sleet and showers.
On Saturday, temperatures were generally between 1C and 4C. "This is well below the seasonal average of between 7C and 11C", Mr Conlan said.
