Son's horrific life with rapist dad

The 56-year-old Sheffield father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was given 25 life sentences and ordered to serve a minimum of 19-and-a-half years in prison last month after conducting a quarter-of-a-century campaign of abuse.
His son, who also cannot be named, told BBC Radio Five Live that the whole family was terrorised and that even when the authorities were told of the abuse it still did not stop.
When he found out about the full extent of the abuse, at the age of 18, he "went flipping mental", he said.
The son said he was beaten and sometimes tortured.
"Once (our father) left the house we were free to be like normal people," he said. "But when he came back we could tell if he was on one because the first thing he'd do was slam the door."
The father's crimes were likened to those of Austrian rapist Josef Fritzl, who kept his daughter locked in a cellar for 24 years, fathering seven children with her.
Sheffield social services are carrying out a Serious Case Review to investigate whether signs of abuse should have been spotted earlier by schools, social services and the health system.
