The couple were named as Sue Barker and her husband Tony, and the other woman who died was identified by Humberside Police as Ann Mawer.
The women were killed on Monday when the premises on a garage forecourt in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire, went up in flames.
Mr Barker suffered burns in the blast, which firefighters believed was a "terrible accident".
It left the offices of Fred's Taxis as a blackened shell.
A spokeswoman at the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby said Mr Barker was "comfortable".
"He is out of intensive care and back on a ward, but he won't be going anywhere for the time being," she said.
In the aftermath of the blast, the couple's semi-detached home, about a mile from the scene of the blaze, was empty. The Christmas lights in the windows were turned off and a red Mitsubishi sport car was in the drive.
A woman, believed to one of their three daughters, arrived later but did not want to speak about what happened. The couple are believed to have been in their 40s.
Neighbours said they have lived in the house for about five years.
