Teenager died of single stab wound

A teenager killed as he walked home from celebrating New Year died as a result of a single stab wound.

Henry Bolombi was attacked after an argument between two groups of youths in the Edmonton area of north London, and fatally wounded in the street just hours into the new year.

A post-mortem examination confirmed the 18-year-old died after being stabbed once in the chest.

Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Plevna Road, Edmonton, at around 6.30am on New Year's Day, and the victim was later pronounced dead at North Middlesex Hospital.

Scotland Yard have said that although there has been no formal identification yet, they believe the dead teenager to be Mr Bolombi.

Detectives believe Mr Bolombi got off the 279 night bus in Fore Street with nine friends after celebrating the New Year in central London.

Shortly after leaving the bus, they became involved in an altercation with four youths in the street.

Mr Bolombi and his friends were chased along Fore Street and into Plevna Road, where he was stabbed, police said.

Anyone who was travelling on the 279 and saw Mr Bolombi and his friends get off, or saw the argument outside a supermarket in Fore Street, should call the Metropolitan Police incident room on 020 8358 0400, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
