Teenager dies after stabbing

An 18-year-old man has died after being stabbed, police said.

Two youths, aged 16 and 17, are being held on suspicion of murder after the teenager died, South Yorkshire Police said.

Police said the victim was assaulted "by a number of people" in Rokeby Drive, Parson Cross, Sheffield, at 11pm on Saturday.

A spokesman said: "We can confirm that the victim was stabbed but can't confirm this as the cause of death yet.

"Police believe the assault is linked to a disturbance outside a house on Rokeby Drive shortly before."

The spokesman said the victim died in hospital from his injuries.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses.
