Teenager hurt in drive-by shooting

A teenager is recovering in hospital after being shot in the street.

The 18-year-old man was talking to another man in Handsworth, Birmingham, when a car pulled up alongside them and a shot was fired, West Midlands Police said.

The victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition following the incident at 5pm on Tuesday.

A force spokesman said: "An 18-year-old man was talking with another man at the corner of Hall Road and Broughton Road at 5pm yesterday when a dark coloured, small hatchback car pulled up alongside them.

"A firearm was discharged and the 18-year-old suffered a gunshot wound. He remains in a stable condition in hospital."
