Teenager on trial over boy's murder

The trial of a teenager accused of murdering schoolboy Jimmy Mizen is to begin at the Old Bailey.

Jimmy, one of nine children, was killed in the Three Cooks bakery in Lee, south London, on May 10 last year, the day after his 16th birthday, when he was hit in the neck with broken glass while buying food.

Jake Fahri, 19, of Milborough Crescent, Lee, denies murder.

The jury of four men and eight women was sworn in on Thursday, watched by members of the Mizen family, and the prosecution will now open the case against Fahri.

Jimmy's parents Barry and Margaret and some of their children will watch the three-week trial in the courtroom.

Two of Jimmy's brothers, Harry and Tommy, are due to give evidence on Monday.
