Tests due on blaze mansion bodies

Police are hoping post-mortem examinations are to reveal the identity and cause of death of two of the three bodies found in a burnt-out family mansion.

A third body is being removed from Osbaston House in Maesbrook, Shropshire, where it was found on Sunday.

Officers already discovered the bodies of millionaire Christopher Foster's wife Jill, 49, and an as-yet unidentified man.

West Mercia Police said work is ongoing to identify the man's body and the cause of death.

A murder inquiry has been launched after a post-mortem test established the cause of Mrs Foster's death as a gunshot wound to the head.

The couple's daughter Kirstie, 15, has not been seen since she attended a family friend's barbecue with her parents on the evening of August 25.

A blaze started in the early hours of the following morning obliterated the mansion, leaving only a charred shell.

Police had announced remains of a third body were found on Sunday evening, and removal was likely to take some time.

Detective Superintendent Jon Groves, who is leading the investigation, said they would reveal more information about the body when the post-mortem test had been carried out.

Speculation has continued to grow over what happened at the home of Mr Foster, 50, who amassed his fortune developing insulation technology for oil rigs.
