Tests reveal sex link with Meredith

Italian police said DNA taken from the toothbrush of 20-year-old Rudy Hermann Guede matched that found on Miss Kercher's body and on toilet paper in the house where she was murdered on the night of November 1.
Guede, who has dual Ivorian and Italian nationality, was detained in Germany on Tuesday after Italian police issued an international arrest warrant for his capture. They began looking for him after a fingerprint found in the house was not that of any of the three suspects in custody at the time.
The test results showed Guede's DNA matched that found on a tampon which indicated that Miss Kercher had what was described as "violent" sex on the night she died. It also matched the DNA found on toilet paper in the bathroom.
Guede had earlier admitted being in Miss Kercher's house on the night of the murder but said an Italian man he did not know had committed the crime.
One of Guede's lawyers, Vittorio Lombardo, said the test results did not mean his client was guilty.
He said: "First of all, these results need to be carefully looked at. Rudy has not denied being in Meredith's house, and the tests do not say that the sex was not consensual. Rudy maintains he was in the bathroom when Meredith was killed, and these tests do not show anything which contradicts that."
Guede is currently awaiting extradition from Germany and is expected to arrive in Italy within the next two weeks.
Miss Kercher's American housemate Amanda Knox, 20, and Italian Raffaele Sollecito, 23, are also being held on suspicion of sexually assaulting and killing the Leeds University student from Coulsdon, Surrey. They deny any involvement in her murder.
Congolese bar owner Diya "Patrick" Lumumba, 38, was released on Tuesday due to lack of evidence.
