He was the third man to be arrested in two days in connection with the £40 million raid at Graff jewellers in New Bond Street, London, on August 6.
Two other men arrested on Tuesday remain in custody, police said.
Police have been hunting two men captured on CCTV footage carrying out the robbery and visiting the jeweller two days before the raid.
Forensic specialists have also been examining two cars and a motorbike used in the sophisticated getaway plan, a discarded handgun and materials used to disguise two armed robbers.
The robbers caught a black taxi across London to the New Bond Street shop where a woman staff member was ordered to put 43 items of jewellery in a bag.
As the men left the shop they fired at a security guard before getting into a blue BMW, passing a package to a motorcyclist before crashing into a taxi nearby.
They fired a second shot as members of the public attempted to intervene, before getting into a silver Mercedes and then a people carrier.
A total of four people have now been arrested in the inquiry.
Last week officers arrested and questioned a 50-year-old man in Ilford, east London, in connection with the robbery. He was released on bail pending further inquiries.
