Mr Ramsbotham, 34, a married man from Norfolk who worked as a HGV driver and plant fitter, was a newcomer to the event which races powerful bikes along country roads.
Organisers of the Isle of Man TT Races, the Manx Motor Cycle Club Limited, confirmed the victim's name following the crash during the Senior TT race in the mountain section of the event.
They could not say what time the crash happened, and no details were yet available about the other two victims.
A statement from the organisers added: "The club extends its sympathy to his wife, family and friends."
Mr Ramsbotham was killed in the crash at the 26th milestone on the north of the island, and was pronounced dead at the scene.
One other person also died at the scene and another died after admission to Nobles hospital, with two others suffering injuries in the accident.
The Isle of Man coroner has been informed and an investigation into the circumstances of the accident is under way.
Race organisers said more details about the crash would be made available on Saturday.
Police on the island gave no further details.
