Adam, the nephew of Olympic sprinter John Regis, was found fatally wounded near West Ham United's football ground in Upton Park, east London.
Police said two of the male suspects are 18 and one is 16. They were arrested in Newham on suspicion of murder and remain in custody at an east London police station.
A post-mortem examination found Adam died of a single stab wound to the chest.
Officers have now arrested 17 youths in connection with the murder. All of the previous 14 were released with no further action.
The attack took place as Adam walked home in Plaistow, east London, after a night at the cinema.
He was found at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road, E13, at about 9.30pm and later died at Newham General Hospital.
Police believe there were four suspects on foot in the area and a fifth driving a getaway car.
CCTV images show two men following Adam, but the attack is not caught on camera.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said officers are investigating whether anything may have taken place earlier in the evening to provoke the attack.
