Tories' lead over Labour hits 19%

Research by ICM for the News of the World suggests that David Cameron has won over the public on issues from law and order to schools, Afghanistan and tax.
The only major area where the Government still held a slim 1% advantage was health - its traditional bastion.
Those questioned also reacted positively to shadow chancellor George Osborne's high-risk warning at the Tory conference that the UK faces years of financial pain.
The poll showed there was support for his plans to freeze public sector pay, cap civil servants' pensions, scrap child trust funds and cut Whitehall budgets.
However, his pledge to increase the pension age and make people work longer was narrowly opposed.
On the key question of who was most trusted to cut debt, 42% said the Conservatives, compared with just 24% for Labour.
Overall, 45% said they intended to vote for the Tories, 26% for Labour, and 18% for the Lib Dems. The lead of 19% is five points higher than in an ICM poll carried out for the newspaper a fortnight ago, before Labour's conference.
