Trial for three on terror charges

Raingzieb Ahmed, 33, of Fallowfield, Manchester, is also accused of being a member of al Qaida.
The defendant and two others face a number of terror-related charges in the hearing at Manchester Crown Court.
Raingzieb Ahmed and Habib Ahmed, 28, of Cheetham Hill, Manchester, are jointly charged with membership of a terrorist organisation, namely al Qaida, between January 2002 and September 2006.
Habib Ahmed, who is unrelated to his co-defendant, is also alleged to have attended a place for terrorist training between April and June 2006.
Both men are jointly charged with possessing articles for a purpose connected with terrorism.
Raingzieb Ahmed is said to have directed activities of an organisation which was concerned in the commission of acts of terrorism between April 2004 and August 2006.
The third defendant is Mehreen Haji, 27, of Cheetham Hill, Manchester.
She is accused of two counts of arranging funding for the purposes of terrorism.
All three deny the charges against them. The trial is scheduled to last three months.
