Tribute paid to park death teenager

Local MP Shahid Malik and the Bishop of Wakefield, the Right Reverend Stephen Platten, both praised the way different sections of the public had come together following Amar's murder in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire, five days ago.
The two men were joined by other Christian and Muslim leaders in the walled garden of Crow Nest Park where the teenager was found dead on Sunday.
They inspected the many floral tributes which had been left there before standing for a minute's silence. The group then left to visit Amar's family.
Mr Malik, who is the Labour MP for Dewsbury, said: "Look at this garden. It's one of the most beautiful gardens in Yorkshire.
"What could be more stark than the vile act that took place in this garden? I think what is happening is that the community is coming together united in grief and respect for the family and the deceased but also in revulsion, frankly, to what has happened here."
Asked about his feelings, the bishop said: "Extreme sadness and some sadness about our society. On the day I heard about this I heard of another three murders so it isn't just Dewsbury.
"It does say something to us about wanting to help people come to a world where they actually listen to each other, where anger is controlled."
He added: "There's also a great sense of community coming together.
"Looking down at those flowers it was clear that those came from different people from different parts of the community - Christian, Muslim and so on. And I suppose at least some good things can come out of this, we hope."
