Two men have been arrested in connection with an explosion in a pub, police said.

Police were called to the White Hart pub in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, on Saturday night after a small explosion, which is believed to have been caused by an aerosol can thrown in an open fire.

The pub was full of young men enjoying a pub crawl.

A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said an investigation was being carried out by police and the fire and rescue service.

She said seven men and one woman in their early 20s had been taken to hospital - three are still receiving treatment for burns.

Two men in their early 20s have been arrested in connection with the incident.
