Two killed in Kent house blaze

Two people have died in a house fire in Kent.

The blaze broke out in a two-storey house in Quern Road, Deal, early on Thursday.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said four fire crews tackled the blaze, which started on the ground floor.

They were unable to confirm the ages or sex of the victims.

A neighbouring property was evacuated and Quern Road has been closed to traffic, Kent Police said.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Fire and Rescue Service will be investigating the cause of the fire. Police are still at the scene."

Further details are due to be released later.
