Two soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Two British soldiers died in a road accident in southern Afghanistan.

The soldiers, both from 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment (Worcesters and Foresters), were killed when their vehicle came off the road in Gereshk, in Helmand province. Next of kin have been informed.

The deaths take the number of British military fatalities in Afghanistan since the start of operations in November 2001 to 81.
