Video of strangled children found

A video of two children saying "goodbye mummy" days before they were strangled has been found by police, it was revealed.

The tape shows Theo Molemohi, two, and his sister, Yolanda, four, playing together at their home in Manchester and also features their father, who has been arrested on suspicion of killing them.

Police sources said the filming appeared to have taken place last weekend and during the tape the children turn to the camera and say: "Goodbye mummy."

Petros Mwashita, 37, was arrested after their bodies were found by the children's mother at his flat in Whalley Range on Wednesday morning.

The video was later found at the address.

The children's father remains in custody and was spoken to by detectives for the first time on Friday following a two-day stay in hospital where he recovered from a suspected overdose taken before he was arrested.

A Greater Manchester Police spokeswoman said: "We can confirm a videotape was found in the flat, the contents of which form part of the investigation. The tape does not show the murders or any acts of violence. It takes the form of a family video featuring children playing in the flat."

The children's mother, Morongoe Molemohi, 30, was recently estranged from her husband.

Paying tribute to the youngsters, she said she had raised "a fairy princess" and a "well-behaved young man".

She said: "I take pride in knowing that they were polite, caring, happy babies. I will take strength from their high energy and beautiful smiles."
