Winehouse due home from hospital

Singer Amy Winehouse is set to return home after seeking emergency treatment for an apparent reaction to "medication", a hospital spokeswoman said.

An ambulance was called to the 24-year-old's home in Camden, north London, on Monday evening and she was taken to University College Hospital, where she remained overnight.

A spokeswoman for the hospital said she was "bearing up well" and was likely to be discharged by medics shortly.

Spokesman Chris Goodman said the pop star had suffered a reaction to medication.

Winehouse's father, Mitch, was with the singer last night.

When asked how his daughter's condition was when he entered the hospital shortly before midnight, he held up a bag of KFC and replied: "This is how serious it is".

The singer has publicly battled health problems recently, with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil's imprisonment causing obvious stress.
