Woman admits fatal stabbing of sons

A woman has confessed to killing her two young children and admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Jael Mullings, 21, stabbed to death her two sons, two-year-old Romario Mullings-Sewell, and Delayno, three months, at their home in Cheetham Hill, Manchester.

She was sectioned under the Mental Health Act following their deaths on November 12 last year.

Police who were called to the family home in Kilmington Drive, Cheetham Hill, discovered the boys' bodies.

Post-mortem examinations showed both died as a result of a single stab wound to the chest.

On Monday, Mullings pleaded guilty to two counts of manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility during a brief appearance at Manchester Crown Court.

She was remanded into custody and will be sentenced on April 28.
