Woman charged over stabbing death

A woman will appear in court charged with the murder of a man who was found stabbed in a city centre street, police said.

The 34-year-old woman, who has yet to be named by Leicestershire Police, will appear before magistrates in Leicester accused of killing Stephen Vidal.

Mr Vidal, a 41-year-old who lived in Leicester, was found in Carlton Street, near the city's Royal Infirmary, at about 12.17am on Friday suffering from a stab wound to the chest.

He was then taken to the nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
