Women police trainees in drug probe

Two women trainee police officers have been arrested on suspicion of possessing and supplying class A drugs.

The women are based at the Metropolitan Police training centre at Hendon in north London.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said one of the women was taken to hospital in the early hours of November 1.

She was arrested later that day on suspicion of possession of a Class A drug.

A second woman was arrested on suspicion of supplying a Class A drug. Both are bailed to return pending inquiries by Barnet police.

No drugs have been recovered but both women have been removed from training and put on desk duties while the investigation continues.
