The BBC'S biggest free festival, which is to be held in east London, today added more star acts to its already stellar line-up.
Price Tag singer Jessie J, four-time Brit nominee Ed Sheeran and will.i.am are among the performers who will join Leona Lewis, Plan B and Florence + The Machine at Radio 1's Hackney Weekend.
The broadcaster also announced plans for some of the stars to hold workshops and seminars for thousands of youngsters in the borough.
The two-day festival for 100,000 people will take place at Hackney Marshes on June 23 and 24 and aims to celebrate the Olympics. A raft of community projects were also unveiled today by the BBC, including the opening of an academy for a month in the run-up to the festival.
It will offer workshops on business, the arts, music, radio production and journalism and will include appearances from the festival's headline acts. Many of the stars will also be visiting local schools and youth centres.
BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, which is part of the Cultural Olympiad, will also feature performances from Professor Green, Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Chase & Status, Lana Del Rey, Tinie Tempah and Wretch 32, it was announced today.
Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ Trevor Nelson, who is an ambassador for the event along with Lewis, Plan B and athlete Phillips Idowu, said: "This is the biggest event in Radio 1's history. I'm a Hackney boy through and through. I'm more excited about this event than anything else in my 16-year career at the BBC. I know what this will mean to the borough. This is something you can get a free ticket for, and hopefully we will reach a lot of young people who may have missed out on the Olympics.
"With the outreach work alongside it, we want to connect to a lot of young people who haven't got a massive connection to the Olympics and help put Hackney on the map."
Event director Jason Carter said: "We will be inviting young people to come in where there will be workshops and seminars on music and business.
"We don't just want to land a big spaceship of an event like this and then disappear. We're going to be asking a lot of the artists to come into the community to appear at the academy, schools and youth centres."
