Love it or loathe it? The Olympics transcends all other athletic competitions. Records can and will be broken with the drama of years of training focused on one race. With the kudos of the world watching London for several weeks, it's going to be, hopefully, a huge and wonderful occasion. Think royal wedding but with everyone wearing Nike running shoes.
Site-seeing? I haven't "officially" visited the site but over the past few years every time I have passed through that part of town I've watched the buildings emerge and always wondered, will it be finished in time?
Olympics kerching? I'll be working at the Olympics as the daily co-host for NBC's Access Hollywood, giving a round-up of what's happening and who's attending, with a particular American/celebrity angle.
Game plan? Obviously I will not be fleeing abroad! My only concern for the running of the Games is that the infrastructure of London operates smoothly. Not just for the athletes and VIPs, who can use the special bus lanes and routes, but also for the fans and ticket holders. There will be nothing more frustrating than if people are queuing for hours to get in and out of events.
Good for London? Apart from the pride of hosting the event, the Olympics are amazing for London. We should treat this summer as an advertisement to the rest of the world of why Britain is so great. No time for false modesty.
