Fitzrovia flavours

Charles Campion casts his eye over three of his favourite Fitzrovia restaurants.

Roka
37 Charlotte Street, W1
Very smart and very chic sibling to the stylish Zuma, off Knightsbridge. This is a slick interpretation of a Japanese grill house, good for sake, elegant skewers and people-watching. £45pp ex-drinks (020 7580 6464).

Spaghetti House
15 Goodge Street, W1
This old-timer has been a Fitzrovia institution for decades. Few frills, few concessions to modernity but the sound pasta dishes at low prices will always appeal to the nostalgic. £16pp ex-drinks (020 7636 6582).

Sardo
45 Grafton Way, W1
Romulo Mudo's Sardinian restaurant has become something of a stalwart. Good, interesting dishes and a warm welcome. Sardo Canale is a sister operation on Primrose Hill. £35pp exdrinks (020 7387 2521).
